34 weeks pregnant with extreme back pain?

tianroman asked:

I am 34 weeks pregnant today. At 30 weeks I was put on bedrest, because I was having several contractions 5 min apart, so they gave me magnesium treatments in the hospital and I have been on bedrest since. I am on 2 medications and thigns have been going fine, contractions off and on but not enough to make me dialate. I am already dialiated to 1 cm. Anyways, yesterday I had my doc appt and my sister drove me to it, like she usually does, afterwards, we picked up my 2 year old son who was at a babysitters and then she informed me that she had a job interview that I had to ride with her to. It was in a mall and it’s freezing outside and i had my son so i had to go in. She was in the interview for an hr and a half. So for that time I was walking around the mall, having to carry my son most of the time. Ever since then, I have had extreme back pain. I know what contractions feel like, but I have also hard of ppl having back labor, and I don’t really know what that would feel like. My back is killing me, esp on the right side, very low, it’s pretty much unbearable at times. Also, I feel what is like a lot of pressure, it’s hard to explain but it’s like the baby is pushing down hard.. like on my uterus maybe. And thirdly I have had ALOT of leakage today, obviously pregnancy brings different leakage, but this is like white and not what I’m used to. I don’t want to be a baby, but if walking for an hr and a half put me into labor, how would I know? Sorry this is so long.

You know, I think the best thing for you to do is call and talk to your doctor… She what he/she has to say.

What you’re feeling IS the back labor. Yeah, sometimes it’ll move to the sides, to the front, in the lower back. If you have had a lot of leakage, chances are you’re leaking amniotic fluid. Anything other than a clear color is something to worry about..

You really need to go to the hospital because it DEFINATELY sounds like you’re in labor, especially if you’re 1 cm. I’d call your OBGyn right away and let them know what’s going on so they expect you. Chances are they’ll want you to go in now.

first why did your sister do that to you? You are on bed rest not to go walking around the mall for a hour and a half. I would say call the doctor. She might want to check you out. It could be putting you in labor or made the baby drop very low. If everything is fine rest and no more walking till 37 weeks. You defently want to keep the baby in till after 37 weeks. good luck

I had 3 premmies… I’ve been in your shoes so to speak. You very well could have put yourself back in labor… and certainly sounds like you have. I would go in… skip the doctor and go to labor and delivery. Be sure to inform them at the desk that you have been in before for pre term labor. Good luck to you! The odds are very very good at 34 weeks that everything will be fine but you don’t want to risk it if you don’t have to.

I agree with the above… can’t believe your sister put you in that situation frankly.

My labor was like that with my second baby-not at all like the first. Yours might be 6 weeks early, but mine was 3 weeks and was fine, weighed 7 lbs. When I called my dr., he asked me, “Do you have your bags packed.” My son was born the next day, no front labor pains, just the back. Every labor is different.
You will be fine. Just be patient.
    Good luck.
